  • Job Title: Sales Manager

  • Reports to: General Manager/Sales Director

Job Purpose:

To manage the sales performance and resources in the business unit in order to achieve the agreed business plan targets.

Scope:

Financial

  • Small £5 million
  • Medium £5 to £25 million
  • Large £25 million and over

Key Responsibilities:

  • In conjunction with the General Manager generate and implement a sales strategy
  • Manage the implementation of the agreed sales plan and budget objectives
  • Identify and co-ordinate improvements in quality and servicing balancing the needs to maintain margin and the need to meet growing customers expectations
  • Develop and maintain professional customer relationships to improve the flow of communication, understanding and increase loyalty to the business
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of the market (including competitor activity) to exploit business opportunities with both new and existing customers
  • Target and develop new sales relationships to increase sales volume and maximise profitability
  • Provide accurate short, medium and long-term forecasts as necessary
  • Recruit, develop and maintain a sales team which meets current and future business needs

Qualifications

Educational and professional:

  • Graduate calibre
  • 3 years to 5 years of relevant sales management experience
