Job Purpose:

To manage the development and operation engineering support across a wide geographic area / multiple sites with the primary objective of ensuing all equipment meets expected levels of output and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, develop, motivate and manage an engineering / maintenance team to provide the required technical / geographic / resource coverage to meet current and future business needs
  • Continually improve the efficiency of the resources within the engineering/maintenance department implementing the adoption of best working practice and engineering/maintenance methods
  • Control resource expenditure for labour, direct expense and consumables within the approved budget for the department and provide early indications of any potential variances in order to assist the overall units forecasting
  • Manage the development and implementation of a preventative maintenance programmes / contracts to maximise machine utilisation and minimise breakdown costs
  • Ensure that all equipment and machinery meets current Health and Safety, Environmental standards and legislative requirements

Qualifications:

Educational and professional:

  • Graduate calibre or similar through/experience/vocational qualification
  • Engineering qualification

  • Minimum 3 years experience of managing/supervising a maintenance function
